ONE BOOK TWO VILLAGES
READING CLUB FOR ADULTS
March 1 - May 14, 2008

Welcome to the One Book Two Villages Reading Club for Adults. Our goal this year is to have you read books related to Iran and forced exile. From March 1 to May 14, read or listen to a total of five (5) books including The Septembers of Shiraz and Esperanza Rising

The Septembers of Shiraz by Dalia Sofer
Esperanza Rising by Pam Muñoz Ryan
Three (3) selections, either fiction or nonfiction,
from the Bibliography

JOIN THE CLUB TODAY!

1. Sign up at the Reference Desk and receive a Book Log.



2. Receive the One Book Two Villages Reading Club Booklet containing reading suggestions from the librarians.



3. Read The Septembers of Shiraz by Dalia Sofer, Esperanza Rising by Pam Muñoz Ryan and three (3) selection, either fiction or nonfiction, from the bibliography.



4. Add the titles to the Book Log as you finish the books.



5. After reading The Septembers of Shiraz and Esperanza Rising your name will be entered in a drawing to attend the private book discussion (limited to 30 people) on Saturday, May 17 at 10:00, with Dalia Sofer, the author of The Septembers of Shiraz.



6. After finishing the additional books you have selected from the bibliography, you will receive the following:
   
   • a book journal; and
   
   
   • another entry into the drawing for the private book discussion with Dalia Sofer.
   
   
7. Books must be checked out at the Main Library in Winnetka or at the Northfield Branch, although interlibrary loan materials that we've borrowed for you are acceptable.



8. You can increase your chances of being chosen to attend the private book discussion with Dalia Sofer by participating in One Book Two Villages programs. At each program attended you will receive an entry into the drawing for the private book discussion
